VALD Force Plate Testing at Atherapy

Precision data. Smarter rehab. Stronger return.

At Atherapy, we use cutting-edge VALD Force Plate technology to bring objective, real-time data into your rehabilitation and performance pathway. Whether you’re returning to sport post-injury, recovering from surgery, or aiming to optimise movement quality and power output, force plate testing gives our physiotherapists the insights needed to assess, guide, and progress your recovery with confidence.

Designed for elite sport and now available in clinic, force plate testing takes the guesswork out of rehab — ensuring every step forward is measured, intentional, and backed by data.

What is Force Plate Testing?

Force plates are highly sensitive platforms that measure the forces you generate during movement — including balance, strength, symmetry, and power output. At Atherapy, we use VALD dual force plates, the industry gold standard, to capture detailed data during tasks like squats, jumps, landings, and isometric holds.

This information allows us to:

  • Identify strength deficits and asymmetries
  • Monitor loading capacity and neuromuscular readiness
  • Track recovery milestones
  • Make more informed return-to-play or return-to-activity decisions

Every force plate assessment is interpreted by your physiotherapist and used to shape a personalised rehab or performance plan.

Ideal For:

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation (e.g. ACL, Achilles, meniscus, spinal procedures)
  • Return-to-sport testing following injury
  • Performance profiling for athletes
  • Monitoring asymmetries in chronic or recurrent conditions
  • Strength and conditioning integration
