Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Atherapy

Restore balance. Reduce swelling. Support recovery from the inside out.

At Atherapy, our Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapy offers a gentle, clinically proven way to reduce swelling, promote healing, and enhance the body’s natural detoxification systems. Whether you're recovering from surgery, injury, or managing chronic swelling, MLD supports your lymphatic system to help restore comfort, mobility, and whole-body wellbeing.

Led by our physiotherapists, MLD sessions use light, rhythmic techniques to encourage the natural flow of lymph — reducing congestion, improving circulation, and supporting immune function in the process.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised form of soft tissue therapy designed to stimulate the lymphatic system — the body’s network responsible for removing waste, toxins, and excess fluid. Using precise, low-pressure movements, our therapists help direct lymph fluid away from congested areas toward healthy lymph nodes, where it can be properly filtered and drained.

Unlike deep tissue massage, MLD is subtle, soothing, and highly specific — often used to support post-surgical recovery, injury rehab, and inflammatory conditions.

Ideal For:

  • Post-operative swelling and recovery (e.g., orthopaedic or cosmetic surgery)
  • Lymphoedema and chronic fluid retention
  • Sports injuries and joint swelling
  • Poor circulation and immune system support
  • Detoxification and general wellbeing
  • Long-haul travel or sedentary lifestyles

Gentle yet powerful, Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a key tool in our recovery toolkit — helping you move, feel, and function at your best.
